MBA>> OBJECTIVES

 

The programme is designed specifically to meet changing demands of leadership in the global zing world. lt prepares men and women to lead amidst the challenges of emerging business environment

The programme attempts to develop a broad range of skills and provide knowledge needed for competent managerial functioning. The participants are sensitized to the varied dimensions of globalization and its impact on business, A strong orientation about the role of information technology applications in organisational functioning is built into all the courses offered.

All the participants in the programme are exposed to a set of core courses and a summer training to accomplish these objectives. The core courses examine the internal and external environment of organisations and the key functions of executives. Participants specialise according to their area of interest, taking up an in depth study by choosing courses from a wide range of options.

There is a strong emphasis on project work as a part of the courses offered in the programme. Working on projects, students are required to interact with managers from the industry. Many of these projects are sponsored by organisations. On an average, a student graduating from the school would have carried out ten projects involving industry interaction and support.

The participants complete a total of 94 credits, core courses 55 credits, electives 27 credits, summer internship 6 credits and thesis 6 credits, over four semesters each comprising sixteen instructional weeks.

For specialization in any concentration area one should complete a total of 15 credits from the area of specialization during the programme. The remaining credits in the elective group can be earned by choosing courses from the other areas.
