She is a postgraduate in Social Work from Rajagiri College of Social Sciences (1993-95 ) ,worked as Counsellor at Adoption Co-ordinating Agency, Rajagiri College of Social Sciences, Kalamassery (1996-2004).She has a P.G. Diploma in HRM from IGNOU(1998).Social Work Educator for the past fourteen years. Her doctoral work was with Institutionalised Unwed Mothers in Kerala, and was awarded Ph.D in 2012 from M.G. University, Kottayam. She is a recipient of the  UGC Minor Research Project  titled “Sexual Health Knowledge and Self Esteem of Adolescent Girls” (2014-16). Dr. Giji  is a consultant to various organizations such as  Youth Red Cross (District Co-ordinator) ,ICDS State Level Monitoring Committee (Member), External Member, Internal Grievance Committee Idea-Cellular, and GTN Textiles, Perumbavoor Ltd. She received the Best YRC Programme Officer Award , Ernakulam District (May 2015). Her interest areas are Adoption Counselling, Child Care Management , Adolescent Sexuality, Environment and Waste Management.
