A webinar on Cancer Prevention & Healthy Lifestyle was organised by SWARAJ and JUNIOR SWARAJ of Department of Social Work, Rajagiri College of Social Sciences in association with Sanjeevani Life Beyond Cancer on 25th of August 2020 at 2:00 pm on Zoom. The webinar was anchored by Minu Mary William of MSW 2nd year. Ms Rekha Mariya Biju (Secretary, JUNIOR SWARAJ) warmly welcomed the august gathering. The Inaugural Address was delivered by Fr.MK Joseph CMI (Head, Department of social work). Somadrita Neog, Volunteer of Sanjeevani Life Beyond Cancer gave a brief introduction about Sanjeevani. Sanjeevani which is started in 2012 was an award-winning, non-profit, registered Public Trust working in the domain of integrated cancer care, from prevention and early detection to providing counselling and rehabilitation for people battling the illness. Main aim is to help underprivileged cancer patients navigate the path to recovery by adopting a holistic and comprehensive approach. After that the guest speaker of the day Ms. Sumki Begum (Program Coordinator (outreach) Sanjeevani Life Beyond Cancer addressed the participants about cancer, three aspects of cancer awareness i.e. how to reduce the probability of getting cancer, early detection, and make a substantial difference in a person’s life diagnosed with cancer, risk factors for cancer , most common form of cancers and also about the basic do’s & dont’s when someone you know has cancer. Later Mrs Ruby Ahluwalia who is a senior Bureaucrat, an author, a painter, a TedX speaker, a life coach, a cancer victor and also the founder of the Non-profit organization Sanjeevani Life Beyond Cancer interacted  with the participants and had answered most of the questions raised by the participants and also described about her book Fragrance of a Wild Soul which is all about her spiritual quest and digging within through introspection, reflection and expression to explore the causes for up heals in our lives and turning our catastrophic experiences into opportunities and living life into its fullest potential.

The event culminated with a Quiz Competition based on the topic cancer and Janson, Ansiya, Sony of Msw backed the first, second and third prize. The meet concluded with a vote of thanks by Mr Vishnu Prasad, student coordinator of SWARAJ. Around 155 participants participated in the webinar. The session was really inspiring, and was so informative.
