Rajagiri College of Social Sciences – Department of Commerce & Professional Studies became functional from the academic year 2015-16. The department is dedicated to providing aspiring students with a wide range of professional and interpersonal skills in the field of finance, accounting, and business studies. Industry visits, field trips, and corporate talks give adequate practical exposure to the students about the subject. With an enduring dedication to the pursuit of excellence, DCPS offers unparalleled student experiences across a broad spectrum of academic environments. At Rajagiri, students not only imbibe academic concepts but also develop a wide spectrum of global business and smart decision-making skills. The value-based education at the denary of commerce will impel aspiring managers to emerge as innovative, creative, and competent leaders; leaders with a broad strategic vision embedded with social sensitivity. Rajagiri provides a balance of professional excellence and social consciousness that will help the new breed of professionals in their careers. The department is emerging as a centre par excellence in the field of knowledge imparting, value-based education, and setting up professional outlook among the students for their future endurance.

 

Professional Studies, RCSS, Kalamassery, has the professed vision of imparting industrial relevant skills and knowledge among students leading to better career and employability opportunities at the Undergraduate level. Professional Studies along with the Department of Commerce has achieved many heights since its inception. RCSS is a pioneer in the State of Kerala offering accredited ACCA and CIMA program along with B.Com and BBA with the highest ACCA and CIMA paper exemption. Apart from core professional programs, the department also offers industry-relevant certification programs during the course of graduation. 

 

 

Programme Offered:

  • B.Com Model I: Finance and Taxation with Chartered Accountancy.
  • B.Com Model I: Finance and Taxation with Cost and Management Accountancy (CMA - India).
  • B.Com Model I: Computer Application with Business Analytics(Finance).
  • B.Com Model II: Finance and Taxation integrated with the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA, UK).
  • BBA with Business Analytics(HR & Marketing).

 

Duration of the Programmes:

  • The duration of the B.Com programme is three academic years (six semesters).

 

Objectives:

The Bachelor of Commerce degree is designed.

  • To provide aspiring students with a wide range of managerial skills while at the same time building competence in a specialized area of business studies. Industry visits, field trips, and corporate talks give more practical exposure to the students about the subject.
  • To imbibe students with a wide range of professional and interpersonal skills in the field of finance, accounting, and business studies.
